When my EV reg leaked, i sent an email to AirArms in the UK and they posted me a replacement for free. Getting it fitted is a different story...

Safari & Outdoor will send it to us to repair as the agents. I am picking up new regs from the Air Arms factory next week when in the UK. As for trying to strip it or replace it if you dont know what you are doing will result in damaging the rifle not even mentioning the warrenty.

Understatement of the century. Simply replacing the reg requires some rather unusual tools and balls the sise of grapefruits. Trying to fix the reg yourself is impossible without a testing gauge, even if you do manage to get the reg out without destroying your gun you will have no way of setting the pressure.

Still mind blowing why AA dont float the damn thing and make the tube screw in by hand like a 400 or even better with some allan head bolts like steyr. Probably the nr1 reason I sold my EV was cause I could not service it

They used to JTK until recent times.
The tubes are excessively over tightened to deter all but the most hardened butcher.
Now they see it as a money making venture in the sense that rifle has to go back to them and therefore charge £130 plus £25 postage to them for a 6p o ring that wont last more than a year if at all a couple of weeks, no pun. Got such a one coming tomorrow thats been back twice already.

Only needs to be hand tight, if it dont seal then its no good.
Only need one special tool on them, also does reg pressure. Dont even need a reg checker.

My EV2 has recently started leaking up through the barrel. Firing valve looks to be in good condition but when I cock the rifle and fire it will not open the valve?
    Any thoughts?

how fast does it leak out?

leaking through your barrel can only be your firing valve so even though it looks fine you probably have to replace it. chances are there was some dirt that has now damaged the valve and caused it to leak.

not firing could be a few issues, best bet would be to take it to the agent and let them have a look at it.

Since the RN10 from 95 minimal change since, less than 70bar the valve usually dump. In other words they need around 70bar to seal.

If theres air in cylinder its the reg, nice easy job 2 seals BS008 and a (BS?) 1/2" o/d. If you were 5k closer i would do while you wait around 20 mins.
Quite common when left for a short period with little or no air in, the O ring tolerances are abysmal and rely on air pressure to expand the o rings to seal elsewhere. Also the cheapest and nastiest o rings are used, for a little more can have Viton that will last 8 years or more against anything from 2 weeks to 12 months.
