Default How to mount a Sportsmatch 1pc Dampa mount

    Hi,

How exactly do you mount Sportsmatch 1pc Dampa mount. If you remove the rubber bushes from one of the center screws and screw it down to use as an arrestor pin, isn't that going to change the function of the mount and it won't be dampa anymore during the recoil? On the other hand if you leave both screws with the rubber bushes, then you don't have an arrestor pin...am I missing something?

What about the mount sliding on the grooves?

nope...mine stayed put on an Eliminator at 19 ft\lbs

The rubber section absorbs recoil and prevents them sliding...try it...perhaps a little atrong Loktite in the grooves will help too.

    No recoil pin required

I'm mounting it on the standard grooves of HW97K. The force comes from the rifle body, gets trasferred to the mount by the touching edges and then the rubber bushes should dampen it while in the mount body, so it doesn't hit the scope hard. Then, I don't understand what should be any different or prevent the mount from sliding than any other mount because there is no rubber beween the rifle and mount, only between the rifle and the scope?

Of course I'll try it Guido! But I'm a newbie and I'd like to do the things "by the book", until I get enough experience to "skip the chapters".
However, Beeman sells rebranded Sportsmatch as Beeman mounts in the USA but they state that they have an arrestor pin. I can't see a picture and don't know if they are any different than the UK version. If they are not, then what should be the arrestor pin?
Whether someone needs it or not, is a different question.

those Beeman mounts are Dampamounts or just plain Sportsmatch mounts?

Dampamounts do not have arrestor pins [at least mine dont]

All I know is that Beeman mounts in the USA are re-branded Sportsmatch mounts. Here is the link:

And one of the guys here is talking about Beeman/Sportsmatch Dampa mounts with stop pin:

Believe the man Swordfish. Slide the mount into position and tighten those four equally spaced screws and that mount goes no where.
