    Default Scope on Gamo CFX

I need some info from you guys, please. I have a Nikko Stirling Gold Crown Air King 4x32AO on my Gamo CFX. After about a year's shooting, the crosshairs broke. Is there any way to fix/replace the crosshairs or are we talking new scope here? And if I replace the scope, what do I replace it with?

If you want to go into FT, then you should look at 6-24 x ? with side focus and adjustable objective that is spring rated.

If you want to plink anything that is spring rated will do. It is up to you what magnification you want.

Do a search on this forum for scopes and read all of it over the weekend, (there is really good stuff), then you can make an informed decision of what you want and why you want it.

I DONT THINK THAT THAT SETUP WILL WORK.
A CFX WITH A 12 POWER SCOPE WILL WORK FAR BETER
YOU WILL PREFORM BETER ON H F T

12 power on a spring rifle is more than enough, forget about sidewheels for a springer.

I also think a springer will scrap a sidewheel scope in no time at all.

NS 3-9x42AO is just perfect 4 me - tried someone else's springer with a 4-12 set at 12x and shot all over the target - I shake too much for such a magnification, ha-ha-ha...

So it is not possible to just replace the crosshairs? This setup is more than enough for what I use the rifle for, some plinking and a little (very little!) hunting.

IMHO & total INEXPERIENCE, I think your scope's stuffed... Sorry. Can't understand why a NS Gold Crown would fail on a CFX tho. Comments the rest of you peeps?

Hi Kobus, Take it back to the dealer all Nikko Stirling do have a life time guarantee. I do have a Nikko Stirling 4x32 replaced 2 times and Nikko Stirling Gold Crown Air King 2x7 32AO replaced about 5 times now. Both broke on a Gamo CFX Royal and on other air rifles. Do get a DM60 'Dampa Mount' made by Sportsmatch see http://www.sportsmatch-uk.com Good Luck

OK, here's the story. Phoned the dealer the scope was bought from. He told me that this is a matter between me and African Hunting Supplies, who are the importers. According to him, I have to send the scope to AHS (by post) and they will deal with it. Being a bit wary of postal services, I sent an e-mail to Ian of AHS enquiring from him what would be the best way to go about this. The very same day I receive a phone call from Ian and this friendly guy tells me to take the scope to Target Specialists in Pretoria, who will then send it on. So, I took the scope to Gavin who passed it on to AHS. Yesterday morning I received a call from Gavin to come fetch my scope. When I got to Target Specialists, my scope was replaced with a brand spanking new one, the improved model even. This is what I call service, both from African Hunting Supplies and Target Specialists. It is a very pleasant surprise to find a company that lives up to it's guarantee and another that is willing to become involved in the interest of customer service. Thanks, guys, you gained a customer for life!

I have also found AHS freindly and helpfull when i was in need!

Kobus ... i think you should go past the guys you bought it from origionaly and give them the finger ... also tell us who they are as i believe that people like that should not be supported.... as when you needed support they basicly said they are not prepared to help ....(If they sell it .. they must support it!!!)
