    Default Nikko Stirling Nighteater problems.

~ ~ Received my new Nikko Stirling Nighteater 6-24X56 today, only to discover what looks like moisture or little bubbles on the inside of the lens. See pics. Is this a manufacturing flaw ? Can I do something to correct it ? Or should I just return the scope. :cursin :cursin

Do not accept it, you will regret it forever. If the guy does not want to help you sort the problem out remember this...just maybe he has a boss that does not like him... he he

:cursin :cursin Well will you believe it. I get the replacement from the dealer only to get home and find out that this one had the same problem. To a lesser degree I admit but definitely very obvious. The guy at the gunshop tells me I should except it because does not have time to check if the scopes he sells are not defective. Well I got my money back pronto after a big fight over the phone. They won't see me again.

I bought one in Dec 2005. Within 2 weeks I have lost one whole revolotion in elevation. Return to dealer on 3 Jan 2006 and got the replacement on 25 Jan 2006. I have not mounted it on a rifle again. Will keep you posted.

Sounds like they shipped all the dodgy ones to SA, nothing changes.

I was about to purchase a Nikko Stirling but after reading these comments, have doubts now. Could anyone suggest other affordable alternatives?

Nothing wrong with N/S, probably find they got dropped or something or the Gas bottle was empty.

I've had no problems yet with any one of three, whiz Nikko Stirling Gold 4x40(used on 7x57Mauser),Nikko Stirling Platinum 4-12x50(mounted on 6.55x55 Swede) & Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50x60(Used for FT)

The Nighteater side wheel series are unlike any of the other Nikkos mentioned above...they seem to originate from a factory in China which makes quite a few other side wheel scopes.

The Nikko 10-50X60 is made in Japan.

Looks like a bad batch slipped thru...
