    Default Myth busters

    hi

i was watching them last night, they tried to prove that if you were under water and you were shot at would you get hit?

they proved that if you were 0.5M under the water you would be safe, even for the 50 cal cannon.

the most ineresting fact is the 9mm pistol bullet traveled the furthest. the 50cal bullet disintegrated in 0.3M of water from the impact.

all tests were done from 1.5M high and 30deg pointing down.

if the 9mm was the best what about our 4.5mm????????? :dunno

I'm sure thet were testing hyper velocity or soft nose rounds. If you're shooting full jacket rounds at subsonic speeds, I'm sure it would go deeper.

Haven't you seen it on the movies?

thats why i posted the thread to hear from the users of the guns, not that you have shot at people under the water before.

If I tried shooting my air rifle under water, all you would see is a load of bubbles and the pellet sinking to the bottom.

maybe we could put a crosbow arrow down the barrel, then we could spear fish and use the bubbles for air, this should be leagal as we are not useing the air for the primary purpose of breathing?????

I also saw the tests. Couldn't help thinking they should have tried monolithic solids. I don't think a solid would disintegrate that easily
They used FMJ but not premium grade bullets.

Spyker, please don't tell me you took the Steyr scubaing !!!!
