Andy you have walked into the classic fps trap we have all found to be far less than true. You will be lucky to get 1000 fps. From my side I am quite happy with my Gamo 440 Hunter.(chronoed 820 fps)

I got the Hunter 1250 a couple of weeks ago and although I can't confirm the 1250 fps, it sure packs a hell of a punch

Thats the recoil!! With power comes excessive recoil and loss of accuracy.

We chronied Falcon's one at around 1150fps (if I'm not mistaken - was definitely well over 1000fps) with JSB's with the spring upgrade in. Pretty accurate & yes it does have a hell of a kick.

Falcon should be able to give you more info on it.

Appart from the recoil. I've been target shooting with a CF 30 at a cone shapped Gamo pellet trap, leaving only grey marks on the metal, but since I got the Hunter1250, the poor trap had to be pannel beated everyday.

I WILL CONFIRM THAT THE 1250 SHOOTS WELL OVER 1200FPS,BUT A BIG BUT SCOPES ONLY LAST ABOUT 20 SHOTS

Shoe I would have never thought that sort of speed was possible from the Gamo 1250

It has everything to do with the weight of the pellet used. That is the point, with the lite weight pellets it will go 1250fps, not saying that is the ideal pellet weight

Funny ting is my Hawk scope has coped well on my springer too. There are however a lot of poeple that dont like them. When I saw them for sale at TS years ago I thought and still do that it would be good to have.

    Check out reviews @ www.reviewcentre.com.
BSA 3-12x44 AR has held out for about a year now with this rifle.
