    Default BAM B51: Help needed

I have been shooting my QB-79 and am very impressed with the accuracy but when I was trying to shoot at 6h30 it this morning (it's sub-zero in potch) the damn co2 thing couldn't take the cold and the pressure was so low that it shot a whole cm low at 10m. THat was when I decided to buy a BAM (I know I said I didn't have money for that but hell, I am going to eat brown bread and drink water only, not go out at nights and so on for the next few weeks).

Apart from rifle and scope, what else do I need? The shop I went to told me that I need
an adapter to fill it but couldn't explain what adapter and he told me he doesn't know where to get them. Does it fill like an paintball HPA tank? I don't want to buy a rifle just to figure out it wouldn't work without some hard to find parts.

I have a 5 L Scuba tank for my paintball HPA bottles and the HPA fill adapter just like the one in the pic.

That one is perfect...you just need a short hose though since it is going to be difficult to connect that QD fitting to the cylinder of the BAM.

Warrick what do you say to the co2 problem Stopper encountered?

But does all your rifles sweet spots begin at 3000 psi ? I only fill my gun to 185 bar, thats where my guns sweet spot begins, so that when I start to shoot it shoots the best.

I got mine from Doropaintball.com for my painball HPA @ about $55US (add $10 shipping )some few weeks ago (it was 6.1ZAR to 1USD, not 6.5 like now!), Some sites sell them for about $35-40 but most don't ship overseas and so ask for $30 shipping. Still haven't seen mine yet (wonder how much tax will be they say 30% duty for tools and stuff).

Enzace, thanks for the offer, sure surely want to check the size (I am quite sure that a1/8 NPT extension hose will work but doesn't hurt to first check it out). I am just not sure if I will be back from PTA by thrus (going this afternoon). Will PM you, Thank you!

By the way, just how much do the Scuba sill adapter worth? I was told they were R700+ for the paintball HPAs and that's why I ordered from the US and turns out paintballcraze sells them for R490.

The selling price of R490 seems to be about right...... I would just change the fill hose to a proper length (say about 500mm) to enable the BAM to lie flat on the ground when filling..... The gauge also needs to be replaced by a larger dial unit. Mine is about 50mm diameter and easily read to 2.5 bar increments. These cost about R150 from hydraulic shops...... A word of caution.... have all the parts made and/or supplied by a reputable hydraulics specialist, I had a black hose burst at the screw-in joint when filling my BAM...... At 150 bar it leaves a blue thumb and severe ringing in the ears for a long time..... Be sure not to use any equipment rated for CO2 (70 bar max.) for high pressure application (230 bar). Your use of HPA equipment, however, should be fine for the BAM, just make sure you understand the pressure you are working with.....!!!!
ps: Please send me the small gauge by return post for the above information supplied......!!!!

Thanks I guess I am going to use s/steel lined hose with 1/8 NPT outlet (R130 at paintball shop, R45 at hydraulic shop) as for reputable hydraulics specialist there is only two places in potch so I guess I have to take my chance (got my Kelvar linded duty gloves and shooting glasses plus ear plugs ready).

Compressed air is very dangerous. Did you guys know that it, at that presure say 230 bar go through your skin and into your blood and then you get "Borrelsiekte" the same as divers get if they come to the surface to fast and don't decompress the right way ?
