    Default Maintain your silencer

    I have noticed on an almost daily basis the declining accuracy of my HW100 !

    This rifle is super accurate and as such was easy to monitor its mysterious decline in accuracy.

    I tried everything, beginning with the problem usually found 2 inches behind the scope!

    Then the mags, checked the pressure, sorted and weighed pellets, tried different brands, weights etc

    Checked the barrel band, re adjusted the trigger, cleaned the barrel, the stock fit, changed the mounts, etc hell I even changed the scope.

    Then I checked for silencer/pellet clipping and found no evidence of that either!

    In desperation I removed the silencer and the rifle grouped beautifully!

    This evening I stripped the superb HW silencer and found what is best described in the photos below.

    The wrapping material was being dragged into the pellets path and every shot was making it even worse, which explains the constant decline in accuracy and those odd flyers I was pulling my hair out over !

    So, when maintaining your rifle, stock, scope etc, donít forget to have an occasional look at your silencer. Even the brilliant HW silencer can fail.

    Had similar issues with my qb79's silencer, replaced it with my .22lr silencer and it looks like I've learned how to shoot!

    bad qc there. that curler should have been longer to prevent that from happening. At best the most powerfull pcp's can collapse the curler but should not be able to pull the wadding around the curler

    I am pretty certain I have some of the material I used on my silencer left over, you are welcome to it if I can find it...

    @Grim

    Trim the edges of the material away so it cant interfere with the pellets. Material should not go past the curler's edge
