Default Pretoria Luggeweer Klub - Meeting - Sat 10 June 2006

As you all know Pretoria FT Club has been hibernating the last few months :1zhelp

Please help us to awaken and restore "Pretoria" to its glory once again
In my opinion it hosts one of the best shooting sites in the whole of South Africa
We can not allow this opportunity to pass us by

The plan is to elect a new covering body this coming Saturday at the Wonderboom club shoot (don't worry, there are a number of persons eager to serve on the comity)

    Date : Sat 10 June 2006
Time: 12h15 till 12h25 (Wonderboom shooters meeting starts at 12h30)
    Place: Wonderboom Lapa

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum...registered yesterday. What about newbies like me who do not belong to any club yet.

what .177 airrifles are not allowed?

Any .177 rifle can be used for competitions as long as it shoots 800Ft/sec with 8.4gr pellets which equates to 12Ft/lb. Your 1250 will work for HFT(Hunting Field Target) but you will need a scope.

I don't believe anyone will not let you shoot with your present gun at any of the club shoots, but if it is higher power than 12fpe your shoot would likely not qualify for a ranking. SO if you want to shoot for fun, it should be no problem.

Please correct me anyone if I am wrong.

The plan is to arrange a shoot at the Pretoria Club venue in August. Will post details of the event on the SAFTAA Site in the next week.

hp, You are probably right, now. At one stage nobody wanted to allow FAC rifles to paticipate because of targets being shot to pieces. That has changed lately, it seems, so I don't know. Just come along and shoot. If nobody asks you about your rifle don't say anything, just shoot and enjoy yourself!!!!

GerrieF I agree the tides have changed a bit.I dont think it is the right Idea to bypass the power issue.Rather be upfront about it Dont want guys and gals being chased away never welcome to shoot "there" again..

Will be glad to shoot at PTA again.Nice venue.

    Alan,
It is not a question of bypassing the rules at all. Boys and gals are invited to shoot fac rifles if they want, for fun. I just don’t know how to find it all (actually I’m too lazy) or I’ll quote how many times it was done. I could further not recall that anybody was ever chased away for shooting a fac rifle nor threatened to be chased away for doing so, we only insisted heir rifles be turned down to 800ft/sec.. What will happen though is that such scores will not count for any competition or league. I referred to fun shoots.
