    Default Help needed: Walther LP2

Just the other day, I ran into someone who’s got a Walther LP-2 pistol. The thing is stripped and he doesn’t know how to put it back. According to him, all the parts are still there and I am going to take it off his hand. I did a search on the net and they say it was the top-of-the-line stuff before the days of CO2 and PCP so maybe it is worthwhile to restore (I collect old guns). While I have stripped many center-fire pistols down to the last pin and back together, stripping airgun scares me (too many parts that look the same, too many springs and seals). Has anyone got info on how to put the LP2 back in 1 piece, or schematic? Anything? Do you think it is a worthwhile project or am I going to waste my time?

    Please Help!

ok...I rebuilt mine ...then MCJ took it off my hands.
    Very nice pistols.

I have no diagrams for it though...found some once on the American Walther site.

The LP-2 doesn't look half as mean as yours and the pump thing is in the grip. Should I take it anyway (the guy wanted something like R300)?

Airking, the Lp2 really doesn't look that mean. The big pic is how the thing looks like now, the small pics are how it supposed to look like. Still interested? It would have been nice if it can be restored (they said something like 1 hole group at 10m), but eish, not sure if it can be done eaily, Beeman stocks SOME parts but not all. oohh..I see which pistol it is now..

be careful, I tried fixing one for a friend of mine once...spares are no longer available for that model..

the seals eventually perish and it is next to impossible to repair...

my advice is unless you know it will work don't waste R300

Stopper, I see what you mean, that pistol of guido got me all exited and tingly inside. The air storage tank is very small dont think you will be able to hunt something with it. Stopper I will pass this time but I really would like an accurate semi powerfull air pistol.

You want an "accurate semi powerfull air pistol", I am busy working on a Bulk fill Co2 semi-auto pistol (either with remote coil or using the 9oz tank as a stock), If it works, it can be real a pest-buster! Watch this space.

The LP3 that I tried to repair did about 360fps...same as an HW40

The LP1 in my pic does about 500fps

Yes, LP2 does around 320 to 350 depending on pellet weight.
