One thing that maybe more DANGEROUS than Gunshops and Credit cards (Dale’s posting on 13 November 2006), is an FT friend in England that posts forum entries under the heading “Arguably the best FT rifle ever” (again Dale). After reading the article, I became sold on the Pro-Target. On the web I found Chris Whytock’s site www.ft-designs.com, and now I really got excited. Chris builds very nice aluminium stocks for the Pro-Target and some other FT rifles. I contacted Dale and he suggested that I browse www.airgunBBS.com. About a week later Dale emailed me that Chris was advertising his personal Pro-Target (with the FT Designs stock, of course) on AirgunBBS. He told me to hurry up, and I did. I was successful in buying the rifle, and after a lot of drama with customs (the details of which I will not bore you with), I received it on 11 Jan (after having arrived at OR Tambo on 8 Dec.). At Target Specialists Hennie, Lucas and later GerrieF assisted in the unpacking and assembly. Unfortunately nobody had the air connector (old AA type) handy, so I had to return home without having been able to fire a shot. Louis of Air Arms however helped me out the next day with the correct connector, and then the (fun and) games could begin!
On the Fri afternoon I visited Guthries Range where Jason adjusted the trigger and helped centre the scope at 50m. On Saturday my son Rudi and I spent some time at a friend's lawn farm shooting FT at 50, 40 & 30m. Most of Sunday (later joined by GerrieF) I spent ranging the scope indoors. The scope side is now OK, and all I have to do is refine the stock settings and practice, practice, practice (with very limited time available).
The Pro-Target feels super and my thanks go to DANGEROUS DALE! Thank you also to everyone who supported me during the long wait for customs (Total Dom, Allan, etc.).[br][img:width=200&height=93]../../Deadlinks/public/1168886799_424_FT0_ft_pt_mkiii1_.jpg[/img][br]
