    Hi Guys

I have found a Dive Shop that has a new 10l Aluminum cylinder (230 BAR) for sale at R1450. Is this a good price, or could I get a better price somewhere else?

    Thanks and regards.

Not bad, but rather get a steel cylinder!

    Thanks, but why.

Sorry I am uninformed on these matters.

With steel you have less tests to undergo and it's "lifespan" is longer.
Also see if you can get a 300 bar cylinder- LOTS more fills

As a matter of fact, say you fill it up to 170bar, a 5L 300bar cylinder has more fills than a 10L 232bar. The only problem is not every shop can fill it that high....

Guys it is so cheap to top up your bottle that I don't think it is worth the trouble to find a shop to re-fill the bottle and on top of that, you can't make a mistake and over fill your rifle either.

GerrieF makes a good point. If you try push 300bar into some guns I will not end well. With a lot of bottles I have seen the vaulve is a bit sticky and the extra effort required to open the vaulve causes a sudden inrush of air .Not the desired result.

I think it is worth the effort just to tell the guys that dont know.Putting more pressure in the gun does NOT mean more power !!

Gerrie does have a point, I opened the valve totally on my bam by mistake before, good thing the tank only had some 210bar or so left by the time I got it....

It is just less bulky, I would have loved a 2lt 300bar tank for club shoot, it would still give 15-20 fills. a 2lt 232 bar tank only gives 7-10 fills...... Not that I have the money to waste like this.......
