    Default Steyr with bayonet silencer

    Finally finished the silencer.
Mounts with a bayonet locking mechanism...attaches and removes in 2 seconds.
No POI shift with silencer on or off due to the way Steyr mounts their barrels.
I could make it longer to make it more effective at 18 to 20ft\lbs.
It is very quiet...ICE was impressed compared to his S400 with AA pickle.

    Looks UUGGLLYY,
saw the same at Durban Deep, hoped that you didn't make it ....
Rather make it a full length silencer, atleast then it will look like the barrel ...

    huh?...ugly compared to what?
Full length how...you mean right back to the beginning of the barrel?
I think it is the neatest looking silencer solution I have ever seen, especially compared to those oversized AA and Logun silencers....are you just stirring again Neil ?hehehe

No honestly Guido I really don't think it looks nice, it spoils the looks of the LG100 Stainless.
Come to think of it, what is the OD of the LG 100 barrel ?
Maybe I can use it on the Pro-T ...

Agree with Lewis that stainless silencer on LG will look nice ...

yeah..I was thinking of getting it perlexed or something
The OD is 16mm...doubt the ProT is 16mm
I also have a nice slip on Venom silencer for 15mm OD.
Had it on an S200...looked really nice.

    Hey Guido,
OD of PRO-T barrel is 15mm
31mm space to slip silencer on
silencer OD cannot be more than 18mm (will touch cyl if more)
    Silencer lenght +- 25cm (yeah 250mm)
weight, must be next to nothing (barrel free floats)
    Why so long, well ...
cyl length (HP cyl) : 64cm
    barrel + silencer length : 50cm

I might in the future remove the HP cylinder and put classic cylinder on (original cylinder was Carbine), thing is just with HP cylinder I get 200+ shots which is lekka when I practice as I don't have to carry the diving bottle with me (into the bush)

    Hi Neil
Off to the Otter trail tomorrow...will chat with you in a week.
I have a Venom silencer which fits on a 15mmOD barrel...very light and pretty efficient.
Its OD is about 18mm...will check.
Needs about 3cm of barrel to fit on...may be exactly what you are looking for.
I just need to make baffles for it.

    Neil,

Don't know if you are aware of it, but when you remove the silencer from the Pro-T barrel you will finde it sits on a stepped down section of about 12mm OD, so the Venom item may not fit.

BTW when I owned the rifle it would give about 100 shots from a 200 Bar fill with that 300mm cylinder.

I would imagine it is ready for a relube of the striker with my secret formula lube - ask nicely and I will bring some down in April

    Hi Jamie,
very aware of that, just didn't think of actually measuring the OD of the stepped down section ... :messed:
As for the secret formula .. well if you insist then you can bring it .... :shoot:
Would be much appreciated ... maybe while you're here I'll let you beat me at FT ... hows that for a bargain ...
