Ask him how much a Tenpoint goes for... not cheap either.
Those R2500 jobs (can't remeber the brand) that our local bowhunting shop sells is more than adequate for full stock crossbows.
I do believe I enquired about PISTOL type crossbows, afa I know Tenpoint doesn't do pistol types? Am I wrong?

I have a Browning Eclipse SL compound bow. Modern 60lbs, single cam with 300fps, 6 carbon arrows, release aid, stabalizer, etc. Worth R4000 at least secondhand. Have shot 4 time with it before the airguns became more exciting.

Asking R2200!!!! Can sent detailed photos if yer interested...

Will double-check tonight but as I remember it has an ajustable drawlenght between 28 and 30 inches. Cam-to-cam is 36 inches. Draw weight is also adjustable between 50 and 60Lbs with a 75% let-off.

So let me stir in any case...
I have a compound bow. I only shoot THE BEST = Hoyt :
30" draw, 70 pounds. Yeah, in some ways it beats a crossbow.
Stephan, I'll check around here if someone's looking 4 that item.

Cool! Some of the Hoyts are very good bows - just depend what you use it for... I literally gave away a fully outfitted Mathews Outback - another THE BEST...

(Sorry for hijcking your thread - did not know you were into bending bows also)

Mathews is good, but I prefer the interlocked cam&half system of Hoyt over the solo-cam system of Mathews, purely because there's less chance of it going "out".
I gotta old 2003 model Razortec secondhand from a guy up Secunda way. It's in grand condition
Don't hunt with it though, only 3D shoot... Massive fun.

While we're on bows 'n stuff, lemme tell you a story that made me go absolutely GREEN....
Guy that works with me has this gameranch buddy that stays out Kirkwood-way (not too far from Uitenhage) on a 27000 hectare farm. They mainly cater for hunters from USA, etc. You know, the guys with bucks.
So, my co-worker gets a call from Arno last week to inform him of this yank that came to shoot a Kudu last weekend. Took it at 25m, through the ribs, through the heart, with the arrow tip sticking out the other side. Amazing, but...
Now here's the sickening part, when he left he told Arno to KEEP THE BOW!!!! It's too awkward for him to take it back with him!!! We're talking an approx. R10 000 bow!!!
I'm truly utterly disgusted and GREEN I tell ya!
So I asked this co-worker if Arno wouldn't mind selling the bow and he says: "No, he'll never. They keep the bows and rifles that regularly get "left behind" for other hunters so they can pick-n-choose what they wanna hunt with..."
    Nasty.
I think I'm gonna drive over there the weekend and just shoot 'em all... Jus' kidding.
