    Default Cabela's

MCJ mentioned Cabela's to me when I mentioned I want to get a gun case.
They have some nice stuff, but just wanted to hear if anyone else have ordered from them before? (www.cabelas.com)
If so, what was the delivery time?
    Duties?
Any issues with customs this side? Ok, dumb question as there always is...but just want to get a general estimation on how long it took.

    Thanks!

case from Cabelas like MCJs will cost you R2000

Also shipping from Cabelas is very high, 40% of order value...plus add VAT

Chaka, having a nice case is cool but whats going to protect the case from scratching. I know if I spent that much on a case then it would never leave my bakkie and I certainly wouldn,t put it down in the sand on shoot days.

One more thing, the plastic cases are very good for what they do and since they are cheap you can rather get some cool bits and pieces for your rifle, just a suggestion.

MCJ's is nice but definietly expensive if you don't have the cash. There were lots of cheaper good looking ones on their site though (around $32) and you all make good points.

The main reason for getting one is flying. A gun bag does not offer much protection. (padded it up with cardboard on ly last flight). When looking at cases the one shop back home (Natal) the case cost almost as much as MCJ's, and it was a plain old plastic one...and did not look very sturdy and crappy foam padding...

The shipping did not put me off to much as a mate will be ordering as well so we'll be sharing cost. The online ordering looked more of a viable option because of above mentioned case or getting a response we do not have stock and it's pricey (sounds like guys don't want to make a sale...)

I'll phone around bit later one then. Thanks All.

I tried to order some items from them before. They wouldn't ship anything gun related (scopes) in this case outside US.

At the price guido is talking of I would go for an Alpine case.

Taz on this forum had quite a nice black guncase at the 1 shoot where he showed us the ne MPR.R700 if I remember correctly.

Check the Storm case 3300. But for that price u might have to buy a rifle for the case, not the other way around.
Even some piledrivers on the site...
