it has been a long time coming and at this point it is on its way.

saftaa will be giving out saftaa colours, the criteria has been put down and once the sa team has received their colours the saftaa colours will be awarded.

    hi Guys,

yes there is qualification this is done on the years worth of shooting, the meaning is to the individual cause on step up is the national colours.

saftaa colours are earned not bought. it is like provincial colours, we are not yet big enough that we have members in different provinces that we can give out provincial colours, this why we will give out saftaa colours.

the qualification will be known when we hand them out for the first time.

please guys this is not a subject that should be taken as a joke, this is for the guys that want to take the sport seriously and compete. the top 30 at the saftaa kick off get certificates the top ten get medals, the nationals gets top 8 sa colours and then some will get saftaa colours.

Just a question or two - promise I'm not trying to be difficult.

    1) If these are to be SAFTAA colours awarded ie national recognition, what plans are in place or are going to be in place to include the rest of the nation for eligiblty and not just the Gauteng nation?

    2) I presume now that we have a official springer class that those shooting springers will also be eligible for SAFTAA colours...?

    Merely curious...

Warlocke your questions are good as a start point.

Errol was not at the last SAFTAA comitte meeting.SO let me just tell you .We are working on a plan to get the coastal regions included.I will send all the clubs the minutes of our last meeting.I will be contacting the coastal clubs as well with our plans .We want to grow .The only way to do this is to work together. If you are not interested in SAFTAA and want rather to shoot high power I or no other SAFTAA comitte member will make you feel uneasy about what you shooot and enjoy. We will however keep trying to drive the numbers of SAFTAA up.

On your question about springers. You can not have a class whatever it is and not recognise it .As far as status is involved it is our fullest plan to have pcp and springer competed as equals.I may be wrong but I thing the Capetonians will lead this class and we welcome your input. Please dont flood us with your plans.Put it together and send it via your clubs chairman for us to work through.

What is SAFTAA colours.Thats easy.As most people will know .We have a few guys that shoot at a high level. These guys always take the bling home.Where does that leave the rest of us ?We want to give class leaders recognition to motivate them and make them feel part of the sport. This is most important in the Junior classes where we hope to one day develope our National team.

Excellent! Look forward to seeing & hearing more on this.

Glad to see this kind of thinking from SAFTAA - I think they will definitely win over more than just a few disillusioned shooters if they keep this up.
