    Default Fun Shoot 23 April

Fun shoot at Brits. The shoot will take place on the farm of mr.M Willers( map will follow as soon as I get it) just outside Brits. It will be a "fun event' with silhouette, ft and bench.
The guys from the UK will be there for a chat and shoot.
You are welcome to camp in your own tent/caravan from friday night.
Info are still limited but I will keep you posted as it comes in.

Clubs can use this as a league shoot, it's up to the clubs if they want to or not.
Sasolburg might use the scores for their members as their league shoot.

Could we sort out a few things regarding the above? 1) Wat are the entrance fees going to be?
    2) Who decides on that?
3)Who are SAAFTA members and how to become one? (Refer Calandar 23/04/05 above)
If this is going to be the entrance fee for "club members" I will have to register a bond on my house every time I want to shoot in a friendly or other compitition. Why not make it afordable so more people would be interested. Most of us are still half starving after having bought a rifle and scope and the rest of the basic rig to start shooting FT/HFT. We want to get young people interested in shooting with us but if it is going to cost the parents, or them R2-00 per shot plus a arm and a leg we might just as well forget it now(again) and save a lot of time and effort. I know about club members that stoped shooting because it bacame too expensive for father and son/dauter.Compare it to most other sports. It is quite expensive to shoot compeditively!!

    Hi guys.
Yes lots of questions, but unfortunately no answers yet.
Time- ? Saturday morning till late at night (that is why I'm sleeping over) shooting will probally stop at about 4.
Fees- As far as I could gather it will be less than R30 per person for the day.
Northwest is the organizers so I can't speak for them. This is NOT a SAFTAA event.
All are welcome for it is a fun shoot and not a competition (we will compete informally against each other)

I have been shooting for about 6 months and have calculated that i have spent over R25 000 on guns and range fees and that is a hell of a lot to spend in six months on a sport or hobby you are interested in. I find that this is a very expensive sport to start off with but once you have bought the basics like scuba tank and so on it gets cheaper.

    Hi Guys,

Jamie and I are very much looking forward to meeting old friends and meeting as many of the new folk we have had contact with on this BBS.

Moose, I understand perfectly what you are saying about the cost, when I start thinking about how much money I have spent since starting FT back in 1989 I have to give up before the magnitude of the expenditure overwhelms me.

    Dale,
Yes, it will be nice to meet you and others after all.
I am happy to hear it is not only me that spent a small fortune on my sport.

the way i see it, no matter which sport/hobby one gets into..........it gets rather expensive somewhere down the line. it all depends on how far one's prepared to go.

btw, how far is this farm from pretoria????? eg. from N1 atterbury t/o??

    thanks

    Hi Guys,

Markus's farm is about 15 minutes drive from Brits.

In terms of hobbies and expense, I took up surfing last September and by my reckoning it has cost me on the order of ?1500 on the hardware already!

BUT - it is fun so I don't begrudge the expense
