    Default springer HELP

I have a bsa airsporter, and i used to be able to hit a 50c coin at 30 m no problem and then one fine day my groupings (if you can call them that) started looking like a shotgun hit the target some of them eavin missed the page compleatly, how could this happen what could be wrong?

iv tried outher scopes and sights and i know i dont shoot that badly. any sugestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. its frustrating the S#@T out of me

I do know the new 50c coin is smaller !
Seriously though, try giving the barrel a gentle clean with a quality gun oil to loosen lead deposits, let the oil work in the barrel awhile and then clean the oil out of the barrel again with a clean dry swab (or tissue paper). Use only top quality pellets and relax - the more frustrated you become the wilder your shots. Does the rifle sound fine?

If you are dead resting then you have to make sure that the rifle is not touching anything too firm or hard as the recoil will throw the shots allover the place. The best is to rest the rifle on nothing but your open hands which in turn rest on the dead rest. Otherwise try a grouping free-standing at 15 meters.

    My BSA did the same.
I think it is time to change the seals. Might even be spring damage.

thanx guys i sorted out the problem, the bsa has a loading tap, and after firing a few shots into water i saw that the pellets were getting sliced as they enterd the barrel causing them to fly eraticly, so i made some washers with shim stock to line the tap up and its shooting hole in ong groupings again. my first bit of real airgun smithing, im quiet proud of myself

Very nicely done. Good troubleshooting. Pretty satisfying when you get something like that sorted out yourself...
