    Default Chrony advice needed

Anyone out there who can offer advice on the correct Chrony model choice (or alternate makes) and comments regarding essential vs useful features, availability, expected price, prefered suppliers (preferrably CT area) or any other relevant advice. I see internet sites talk of Chrony models such as F-1 (Green), Alpha Master (Red) and Beta (Blue).

I would recomend that you get any of the Chrony master series rather than the STD units because the actual processing unit is then with you at the shooting table. If you do have an accident then only the screens need replacing and not the whole unit. As to the rest it would depend on what features you require. I personally use a Beta Master and it serves my purposes well.

Thanks Importer, sounds like the more practical option.

Any of the Chrony master series do well. I forget the exact specs, but you can google for it . The top of the range has memory so you can save info to download later etc.
Also consider getting the lights (as in bulbs) optional add on. Allows you to use it indoors and in very overcast weather. Makes it much more reliable too. Very few missed readings.

Both the Beta (60 shot) and Gamma (1052 shots) have memories. I settled for the Beta Master because I really do not think that I need more than a 60 shot memory. Memory is divided into 10 shot strings.

Does the Beta have the lights as standard for indoor use?

Do not think lights come standard with any of them. Option to all of them. Should work on all, as they have the same screens.

No the lights do not come as standard. All I did was go and buy a portable 300W spotlight (its is mounted on a Yellow Adjustable stand) and it works very well. Just remember to use the diffusers that come with the Chrony.

Ps If you need a chrony let me know!
