I hope you have not annealed too many of your stainless blades prior to HT! There's about a 200degC difference between annealing and stress relieving stainless.

Update... am busy shimming and aligning the belt graainder... is tricky when the one year old tries to steal all your cv-joint greased washers and hide them in his mouth... and the four year old is dancing around shouting: make it go! make it go! First try... the belt ended up under the subaru after a brief spin... Second attempt the drive wheel dismounted... or attempted to...

Really need a proper sleeve twixt drive shaft and drivewheel made... the heath robinson does not work...

I think someone once called it design by grinder... not sure if it is a good or bad thing... but between the drawing on paper, glueing it to the steel, sawing it out and grinding it to shape... a new knife is born... that looks a lot like the one i though i drew on paper... but nothing like the cutout glued to the steel...

Desogn by grinder not yet complete... looks better in the steel... but that often is more your mind's eye that takes over... photo is prolly reality... it looks odd still although the kiritsuke tip was intentional... wa not there yet...
