    Default DIY Target Stand

I originally built a target stand which had 3 A4 target holders and 2 lots 0f 6 swingers this has bee used at two of the Bugsplat comps and on each occasion the top target was never shot at, which i think pointed out that it was to high for normal sort of bench rest shooting.
    Original Target Stand

Was speaking to Brianj and he wanted one so i decided to design a shorter unit and also put in spinners instead of swingers, the spinners will have a top target of 15 mm and a bottom on of 20 mm Brian's choice. I have also now decided to put in swingers as well with a 20 mm disc.

New unit mocked up on my bench.

Unit welded up with my spinnners and swingers installed to see what it will look like in principal.

Getting there tested it out with my daughter this weekend works well.

Looks good. What will the cost of one of these units be?

Materials alone comes in at over R350.00 that's with no labor, R750.00 is what i would charge and that would include 10 Masonite backing boards for the A4 targets.

Please remember this is far from finished yet!!!!

Also looking at the cheap, stuff that is thrown together, that is available i think its worth that. Am making 2 at the same time, as mentioned above one is sold.

Here is a picture now all the welding has been done and the stand cleaned up ready for paint. Will give it a couple of coats of black etch primer followed by a couple of coats of rust-o-leum Satin Black.

Spinners and swingers being made now will still have to weld them all up and paint as well...

If I may make a suggestion Mark. If you maybe get a request for making a stand to fit in the boot of a car, why not split the unit between target 2 and 3 and weld in 16mm tubing, slide the 25mm over the 16mm. Nice work by the way.

Very nice Mark, and I think R750 for a unit like that is more than a fair price, if you look at all the labour going into it.
