I have done my costing on the new shipments coming in and it is going to get worse. The exchange rate is becoming a real killer plus the manufacturers are putting up prices on some of the product ranges.

Euro last year was average 9.6 Rands. Today FNB asked 12.34 to sell euros and the one year forward cover was 13.23! That means the banks expect it to go worse.

    Guys

I can still get a CFX with the synthetic stock at a very good price.
Is it exactly the same as the Royal, or should I rather buy the Royal

R1950, supplier remains anonymous until I've decided whether I'm buying or not.

Problem is, the prices never go back down when the Rand picks up...

There's another factor, materials. Copper prices are sharply on the rise worldwide. Other metals are increasing too, so even if rand gets stronger, cost of manufacture will have most likely risen again.

    Fun and games ahead...

Qeuntin.. the price on that CFX is reasonable. You will not be able to get that price unless 2nd hand in which case it will be less Anyways.. If you have your heart set on one then go for it. You will not be upset. The benifit of the plastic stock is that you will not feel bad when you bump it. You are also able to balance it to your taste by filling the back. The wood is nicer looking and nicer feeling and in stock format (without balast in the plastic stock) the wood appears to be more accurate. Have a chat to Michael that shoot with us. He recently bought a logan and may want to sell his CFX. You could get a god deal..
