    Default Checking of cylinders

    Hi guys,

I have 2 cylinders (232bar) that needs to be checked and hydro tested. Any idea where I can take them - easiest/cheapest options?

    thanks

hey man, i can get you the number of a oom in Valhalla, he charges something like 50-R100 bucks, he used to do all the hydros and visuals for Oom Frik de beer, the guy thats selling the cylinders, maybe DSF has his number or knows someone who does.

It is indeed Oom Jaap Barnard in Valhalla @ 012 6600950
But for the effort it is most probably better for you to take it to your nearest scuba shop and pay them the few extra bob.
I took mine to Calypso divers in Cresta. I waited a week or so and they charged me R154 wall&all for the Hydro check, refill and service. which is fair.

I paid R 160 and it takes about 3 days at scuba city...this seems to be the going rate, I recon it'll be easier if you take it to the nearest scuba school and they will send it away for testing

Try PJ Edwards in Wynberg. Last time I checked it was R160 to test and fill a 300bar cylinder, while you wait...

I agree with Spyker, they are fast and cost effective. Give them a call +27-11-887-1410 and the address is
Unit 7, Wynpol, cnr Thora Crescent & 4th Street Wynburg (Next to Thora Fast foods, opposite Group 4)

Had my tank (12L 232) hydro inspected and filled at PJ Edwards. They're a bit pricey (R300 for both the inspection and fill) but they do it while you wait so there's no "tankless" time.
