    Default Storage of an S4x0

Would it be advisable to slide the bolt open on these rifles when they're stored?

Was wondering if this would save the breech and bolt o-ring a little. Had to replace the rear bolt latch o-ring yet again today as it was paper thin again and the bolt kept jumping up when fired. I know this would allow it to return to a relaxed state during storage - my only concern being that dust could settle on the slides.

    Thoughts?

try it, leave the bolt open and place a piece of masking tape over the slides, should keep the dust out. Hmmm, thats not a bad idea, maybe I should cork my barrel when I store my gun, I always seem to have dust in my silencer.

When stored barrel up I just throw a rag over the silencer. Don't think that masking tape would stick to the oily surfaces though. Hah! yet another use for duct tape here! lol.
