Neighbours are not happy either, got hold of a piece of sleeper, think its Jara wood, planed it to see what it looks like, unfortunatly full of cracks.
Has anyone worked with Jara, should I try and do something with it or just dump it.

Need to get some Danish oil, White spirits & sand paper, only have up to 1200grit, O' almost forgot the steel wool.

Nice work there Howardv, for me the pistol grip seems weird, suppose thats the way of FT stocks, but should fit the hand nicely.

    Cheers

Op my walnut gebruik ek Schaftol.

    Hi AdrianV

Have been to Rarewoods, only one piece of Assegaai in the showroom.
The one to the left of my daughter, crack stops about half way.

Yes, only R570, could not believe it, unfortunatly did not have enough money.

Hi all got a few pieces of wood, worked out to about R400 a piecce, now I am bank bankrupt.
I went to find a piece of Walnut, could only afford African Walnut, two centre pieces.
American Walnut, Birds eye maple, curly maple all between R35 000 & R45 000 m.
Then I saw this piece of Kiaat, two on the left, could not resist.

    Before

    After

Wil n paar nuwe tools aanskaf.

    Cheers

Kuber, I am taking the piece of Kiaat 2nd from the left. As soon as I have the "rifle" we need to discuss a stock that needs to be made.
