I don't know if it is only me, but I think Ive noticed this in other people too.

Its been 10 years now, since I had my first gecado, sold it due to licencing issues back then.
Then I got a new springer about 4 years ago...

And STILL i feel a pretty negative vibe regarding air rifle shooting. Every second Joe blog on the street
is an anti-gun lobbyist, 99.9% of the places I used to shoot at in the old days are gone, either built up or taken over by gun-fearing bunnyhuggers who think that I am out to kill their poodles.

It's hard finding places to shoot, plink and hang out with other airgunners (hopefully soon thanks to shamen/silo/farmer though).
I find it hard finding shops where I can buy airgun related accesories and items.
I find it hard to remain positive about maintaining this as a hobby.

is it only me? Why do I(and some) have this vibe?

Maybe someone can cheer us all up with some positive facts

Marlon, if you stop taking part in the legal enjoyment of air rifles and air rifle sport then the anti-gun lobbyist has won. Never give up your right to do that. It is enthusiasts like you that keeps it alive,Waiting for someone to cheer us up wil not work. WE have to cheer us up, and you do that by supporting your nearest klub, be it in PutSonderEnd..

For AAC you can contact Andrew, GaryG or Curt on this forum. I am hoping to do a website for the soon.

Marlon, don't allow these things to get you down. As DSF said, if you allow these negative aspects to get you down, then you might as well pack up and go home. Shoot responsibly, at a proper range or farm, if lucky enough to have access to one and there will be no complaints, period.
The sport of FT and HFT is really fun and competitive, we need more guys like you to grow the sport in this region. Maybe you should give it a shot, excuse the pun - come and join us at a shoot!

You could also look for a Bench Rest club and or Silhouette club. Shooting the above helps with learning to read the wind and does wonders for your standing shots aswell.
