Locally, you can get the Viper Max which looks identical but obviously standard 177. All it is, is a tarted up Shadow 1000 that is designed to look like a shotgun but I find that a little cheesy. It's kinda like fitting a row of red L.E.D.'s to the grill of your car and waiting for people to be awestruck by the striking resemblance your mother's Mazda Midge bears to a crime busting, fast as all hell Pontiac Trans-am!

Alan, how do you "patch the barrel" ? I assume this is to protect the riffles in the barrel but how would you do that?

I think what Boondock is refering to is just a wad to keep the bb's from rolling out front or back

Ahhh...I would be concerned about the damage to the inside of the barrel though

In their initial description of the gun at the top of the page, they speak of a smooth bore and a little further down on the same page the barrel is said to be "precision rifled steel", so which is it then I wonder?

Vuilhond I have to agree, I wouldn't want to have loose steel balls flying down my barrel!

I also happened to notice that any pellet of that size could be used in the gun but in the absence of rifling, if it is indeed smooth bore, what sort of accuracy could one expect?

Ahaaaa! That would explain how they get around damage, I assumed they were steel balls.

I did not read a review to realise that...just the picture and the specs were enough..
