Default Scope problems - Nikko Stirling 10-50x60

    Any advice please.
My big nikko is sick - apparently. At first thought it was me, but someone else tried it today and confirmed my suspicions. Big Wheel is very slack - with some free play. Over 30 mag can hardly see target anymore. Very dark and out of focus. Tried another shooters one today and can use it up to 50x no problem.
Anyone else shed some light on this? or do I just send it back to supplier?

Only 3 weeks old. Bought brand new. I have been so busy it has only done two shoots over last two weeks, Hammarsdale and today in Eshowe, and one practice in between. Thought I just needed to get used to it, but after trying another today am definitly not a happy chap.

speaking under correction, I believe that Nikko Stirling have an exchange warranty on faulty scopes, Lynx have repair warratees from factory or agents. Tomcat, I would send back - remember scope in nitrogen filled, has about 12 lenses, etc so I wouldn't stuff around too much.

Right then back it goes. Cannot afford to lose the warranty. Just started to get attached to it so was hoping for a miracle fix so I didn't have to go through the return and wait syndrome.

The supplier must replace it if they have stock that is Nikko Stirling policy

So do I take it back now and risk waiting a few weeks for a replacement, or wait until we know they have stock? What do you think is best?

get in the queue I suggest. last thing you want is for the new stock to be sold out before you get replacement Tim.

sounds like the parallax wheel mech has come loose...check out this link http://users.skynet.be/mario.severi/...ng/strips.html , it is quite easy to take apart...
I modify all mine since there is always a little backlash in the big Lynx\Nikkos that I correct using some tiny shims..

Thanks for that Guido, but think there might be more to it. If I open it they won't exchange it. Am going to return it for a swop out and hopefully get a better one. Then the mod you mentioned will be worth doing.
