Hi everyone. Just a question - How do the trajectory of a light pellet compare to that of a heavy pellet with the same velocity? Example - 10.5gr (.177) to a 14.3gr (.20) both at 980 f/sec.

.20 will have a flatter trajectory since the BC is better.

OK, so I did it for you. They are virtually identical.
Pellet drop is a function of speed and BC since gravity is the same for both.
According to Chairgun the BC of the two pellets is virtually the same.

Thanx, that is what I needed to confirm. In theory if velocity and BC is the same, trajectory will be similar irrispective of pellet weight and calibre.

haha.. yeah true. shoot the damn pellets! Comparing a .177 and .2 at the same velocity also does not make sense. the .2 will be better every time because of the increase in energy. it will be more accurate due to less effect of wind as well. If you could shoot the .177 and .2 that weight the same at the same speed the .177 will be more accurate.. anyways you will need much more energy to do that so go figure
