those that use it swear by it. I myself cant get into that position unless I mod the rifle to put the trigger on the ground or something

It is incredibly stable since your right leg pulls down on your arm and locks the rifle between your leg and cheek...the front sits on the hard surface of your knee.

you need to be fairly flexible to do it and not have a tyre around your waist...some yoga also helps..hehe

The position has worked for me. I find that Im able to stabalise the rifle a lot better using this position compared to the standard free style shooting positions. However, not everyone can get into this position, so as Guido has said, you have to be fairly flexible and lean to use it and the rifle has to be setup perfectly for you (in this position).........

Geez, seems I will have to lose the spare tyre now. Thought it would work for me as extra ballast...
What's the story with the sunglasses Guido, do they really help and do they have to be rose tinted?

I wear my orange tinted mountain biking shades on days like yesterday when the light was bad and there was heavy cloud cover...helps a lot with contrast...and psychologically the warmer colours put you in a better mood!

That position is very stable but you need an adjustable cheekpiece on your rifle. Sadley I don't have one.

    Its a great position!

Your rifle is locked onto position, and once you get used to it, its pretty comfortable... (Maybe that only counts for slim guys)
