    Default Steyr

I recently bought a Steyr LG110HP rifle. I tracked down its history and found out that I'm the fourth owner. Being my first ever PCP, I played around with it and soon found out that there is a problem with it. Up to 20m it shot OK, but would not group at 30m and from there it went all over. I asked around and everybody said: "Contact Steyr in Austria".

Being oversees and the idea of great cost involved, I left that as a last resort. Eventually I got hold of Guido (Steyr agent in S.A.) and he also encouraged me to get hold of them.

Wow! What an experience! They were so helpful (even though it was such an old rifle). I experienced such good service from them.

It turned out to be not such a huge problem and Guido helped me sort sort it out (Thanx Guido!).

    The rifle is as new.

If ever considering to buy a PCP, Go for Steyr!!!
Not only for the quality and accuracy, but for the amazing backup service you receive from them. They still have pride in their product.

Stupid question perhaps but howcome do some people shot 1000's of shots through their barrels and not have any dirt build up while others much less thatn that and have ther barrels fowl up with dirt?

What decent cleanng kit can one use for the .177 barrel and where to get it?

The rifle was used at high power, this normally leads up the barrel a lot quicker than at 12fpe.

Also some barrels like to be shot clean and others don't. I clean my barrel regularly with a pullthrough made from fishing line and a piece of cloth dipped in spirits/benzine.

    as Arnold says...so many variables.

Some barrels foul up quicker, rifling differs, twist rates, velocities.

Some pellets are softer, dirtier etc etc...

I have had to sort out 2 rifles now in the past 2 weeks which had become completely inaccurate and had the owners in tears...

Did they cry about an airrifle ... hehe. I must say it is very frustrating when you know there is something wrong with your rifle and you do't know what or how to fix it.
