    Default FEINWERKBAU AIR RIFLES

I have read the threads concerning the ongoing battles between Walther and Steyr. I have not come across any mention of Feinwerkbau . Are they sold in SA , by whom? And lastly, maybe the most dangerous question (seen in the light of the running battle going on ) : What is their reputation? I am looking at the 700 series and the P70.

    Hi Iceman in a nutshell
This rifle also has a story, poi is big. imported by air arms,
also very accurate. This is the most expencive rifle in SA. Air arms tried to solve the problem by taking of the collar band on the barrel if it worked i don't know because the owner of the rifle doesn't shoot anymore.
When we where in America last year the people there did big mods on the rifles. most of them changed the whole action to a new design.

In America, definately the Steyr, and their own Mac 1. The most ugly piece of plumbing that I have ever seen, but according to them, they can shoot. There was a shootout for 1st, and 2nd last year between the Mac1, and a Steyr.

Allan, can you post a pic of the Mac 1. I'm scared that my PC will break, if I post one.
(fact is, I'm to stupid to post it myself)

FWB is an awesome 10m rifle but does not make a good FT platform and neither does the Anschutz.

FWB too long and balance is not ideal for FT, not good for 18ft\lbs which is what they use in the States.
Anschutz has POI problems since the action is in 2 halves and does not work well scoped.

FWB got shot down. Now, I didn't even know Anschutz had airrifles - I've got a .22 though. Does anybody shoot this rifle as I have not seen one?On the website the specs are impressive.

    FWB.
Most of the above negatives come from biased opinion, fact is the P70FT won the World MS champs in SA two years ago and also is prominent in BR and FT matches in the UK and Europe.
    Anschutz.
The two 2025 rifles that were brought in 6 years ago are still functioning reliably and very accurate.
Importer is the sole SA agent for FWB and an agent for Anschutz and so one must possibly discount a touch of jealousy.

FWB is a very reliable rifle capable of many years hard labour and is the most popular 10m rifle in the World at the moment.

I only have experience from FWB 300s and if the new ones are any close to that old 10m-rifle then MMP is right.
On the other hand, I found what Guido said also in other international forums. There are people out there that say 10m is what FWB know best - not FT.
I wish I had the chance to try myself a rifle like this and have my personal opinion

Considering that in Germany alone there are 1.5 million 10m shooters interpreting the comparison is obvious ie. 10m guns are predominant based on numbers

All big name European FT guns they are 10m derived.
