What do you plan to do with it. In my opinion, rather go for the HW45. I't single shot, but brilliant trigger and supurbe accuracy.

Not the HW45, that is a springer. Rather get the HW40 if you are looking for a single shot pistol. I can't comment on any of the co2 pistols.

I need to shoot Rock pigeons at close range.
They eat my dogs' food which is under cover in my braai area.
About 15 of them at a time, my Boxer is too scared to chase them.
Have you had experience with it Silo?

For what you want to do with it the HW45 would be my preferred choice, even though it is spring powered. I've had my 5.5mm calibre HW45 for 22 years now and it still gives me 5.5ft/lbs with its original spring. It has accounted for a good few rats and pigeons at short distances!

Other pistols to consider would be the likes of the Crosman 2240 CO2 and pump up 1377 although these will be noisier than the HW45

Probably a better bet would be a small pump up rifle like the Cannon 737 and just run it on 3-4 pumps - fairly quiet but effective and easier to shoot than a pistol.

Please... not the Cannon 737. That thing gave me endless problems.

"CDG or Afrilec" ...they don't have any. CDG have a 1377, but I want a CO2 single shot.

yes we used one with our last hunt, piece of junk. very unaccurate even at close range. we also had the PT 80, very nice! the tactical is much better and you can still get good straight line shots @ 20m (LONGER BARREL) thank you andre visser for letting us try out all those pistols.

Quentin, Hw's are very nice pistols indeed, top that with a nice 30mm tube red dot scope - point dot on target and presto! hole thru red dot. Shot Andrew's ex HW40 - very sweet, pity the pistol went JTK's way so fast!
I think the new HW40's are in the region of R2500-00. prices have really gone thru the roof!
