PM Dale about that one. There is a target like that "hidden" at his local club. Will look for the pics I took of it and post it later.

Gamo makes a battery operated moving target. We shoot it at Welkom Club. Ask Nick about it. It works fine and is a lot of fun to shoot.

    Ja good one trigger.
I have looked at the Gamo one , but the price is ridiculous.
I am about to make one from a piece of old steel cable and the front of and old Gamo Rat Target. Rat will be welded to a piece of tubing so that it "hangs" on the steel cable. Then a simple piece of string tied to the tail and a couple of pulleys later you have a moving target. The speed can be adjusted by altering the angle of the cable. Pull the rat up the cable and let go - down she comes.. Lenght of time is detemined by the lenght of cable and for more interesting option add some obstacles along the way so that it appears and dissapears as it runs down. Pretty realistic actually.

sounds like a plan yes. Was thinking of using maybe sometihng like a radio controlled car motor and servo to do the job. I think the challenge would be to make it run faster and slower @ random. To shoot a moving target with predictable path and speed my not be so much fun as you can sit and wait or just follow.. Will have to give it some thought. Are you planning on running it off battery Tim?

Have lots of willing young hands here, so not immediately. When I shot practical pistol, back in the old days, I set up a number of electric moving targets. So probably will eventually. It's not difficult.

To make it more interesting we just change the spacing on the obstacles. Creates an optical illusion that he thing changes speed.

wont be able to top that.. think it will be very hard to hit the target though, with all the laughing going on

I used to hang a coin with a string from a tree @ 10m and let it move like a pendulum.
With the norica and open sights it was fun.

    Good one...

Could end up hypnotising yourself into believing you having fun if nothing else...
