    Default Underwater Photography

Hi guys. Before I want to spend pellet money, I first want to hear if it would work in the first place. We have a fishing spot at a river, and I want to see what size fishes are swimming around. But will a camera actually see anything past half a meter in say 1.5 meter deep river water? Can I use my normal camera in a waterproof housing, or will n true underwater camera be better? I'm thinking there might be focus issues with a normal camera perhaps.

Gopro will work. Took some amazing shots/videos in the sea of Pemba in Moz.

How clear is the water - that will be your limiting factor for a start.

A lot easier to get a canoe or small inflatable with a sonar fish finder powered by 12V gate motor battery and move around slowly to see if you can detect fish.
I use this system often at new locations....
You will cover a bigger area and you don't have to get wet!

I know there are fish. I caught a beautiful 11 kg carp in the spot I want to put the camera. I want to see them as they are, not locate them Basically I just want to see if there are even bigger fish in this private river as no matter how I try, I cannot better this record. All the fish I catch specimen style stay between 5 kg and 11 kg. Perhaps there are no bigger fish as a few years ago the dam wall did break. I just want to calm my ego and learn how the fish in this river approach baits to improve my chances. Sorry if this sounds like caged fishing.
