I like the idea, but the problems are:

    1) Space: Finding a 60M shooting venue is slim.
    2) Lack of wind/atmosheric condtions making it easy, and ultimatly boring.

I think i must extend one of my barns , only need some 25 meters. A good idea for winter time down here in the cape. not that we had much rain.

Use fans if you want wind. You will be surprised that you will not always hit the target as often as you think, even without all the outside conditions. Try it.

The guys from Kraaifontein Rifle range have the idea to get some of the surrounding land next to the club for something like that. The problem is funding. The land can be begged from the municipality. The development of the NEW RANGE is very costly. Just the wall alone will set you back mega bucks.

The Idea was to make 2 ranges. One outside with some Port Jackson left for FT/HFT and one cleared range for other airrifle shooting.

Any guys out there with contacts or BIG wallets, contact Oom Gert at the club.

If an indoor FT range is used, make use of more reduce KZ and more standing, kneeling shots.

i know the perfect place its a unit in TRAKKA AVENUE STIKLAND, oppisite ZA GALVINIZERS. its a big double story unit inside and outside braai, big yard. you can have the range, resturant, shop and there's ample inside parking. i thought of this quite a while back and then i saw that unit. you can have a kids area outside/inside. and as far as wind goes a couple of big ass fans will do the trick, you can move them and direct them anyway you like. YEAH!!!!

Getting the cash for a project like this is gonna be extremely difficult I'm sure. But let's assume someone had the cash...keeping it going as a viable business is virtually impossible. This sport/hobby is too small and expensive (to start out) in RSA. Hence very little support makes projects like these unviable business ventures...unfortunately.
