    Default CZ200 help needed please.

Is it normal for air to come out by this little grub screw when you fire a shot?

Holding a piece of paper there when firing a shot it clearly indicates air coming out.

Any advice or if someone can check if this is normal on other rifles will be appreciated.

P.S. Louis couldn't say for sure either.

    Hi Arras,

that grub screw controls the amount of air going through the transfer port into the barrel, coming from the air cylinder.
air leaking past it means that you are losing air and would otherwise be shooting inconsistantly and under powered regarding how the grub screw was set.

I would check whether the thread on the grubscrew hasn't been damaged or where it screws in, if it had been tampered with, confirming whether it is seated properly.
I would also check whether it is in the correct position...meaning, too far out could also cause it to not seat properly and would probably be loose as well.

Hope this helps a little with your troubleshooting.

Thank you Bertus. Just checked another one at a gunshop. Does the same. Seems normal.

Interesting, ill check mine out when i get it back from it's service.

i haven't noticed air coming from mine in that sense..only once or twice from the pellet probe..but that was caused by broken o-rings on the pellet probe itself..

will let you know when i have something to share.

I don't own a CZ200 but it seems very strange that air comes out from the little screw, means that this rifle wast a lot of air when fired, is that some sort of pressure release system for whatever reason?

This. And, use a dab of Loctite 248 or some PTFE tape on the Venturi grub..

Try to mark the thread first though so as to keep the power setting.

Mine does not do this and works incredibly well. Its wise to do what was suggested above.

    Hi Arras
I checked mine today. No air leaks from that grub screw when fired. I confirmed by dry firing the rifle with a piece of thread tape hanging over the area and there was no movement of the thread tape at all.

Definitely not right for air to leak from that point! That is the location of the firing pot adjuster screw and is usually capped off by a conical, anti-tamper blanking plug. These are often removed to access the Allen grub or set screw for power setting. Check this:

    I hope this helps.
