Default When was the last time.......

    Allo guys & Girls

Was just wondering when was the last time you took one of your guns with open sights, a couple of tin cans, and just plinked for fun?
Is shooting with open sights a dying art?
I am not talking competition with peep sights and all that, just back yard plinking with the factory sights.

I did it this weekend past with my little HW35, took me quite a while to start hitting those cans again.

My problem is I use reading glasses, I have to make a choice, see the sights or see the target. The other one is a blurred guess

Last night with my pumpmaster. Was a lot of fun. My Falke is getting a service as two in five shots didn't make 10m.

This past weekend. There isn't much that can beat shooting an older, vintage Gecado, Diana, BSA, FWB, Anschutz (the list goes on) springer with open sights. They are just soo pure.

Just had a plink in the backyard with a Gecado 35, yes.
Nice 'n smooth little shooter, Couldn't shoot stuff that goes "ding!" in case any neighbors moan, but shot a box. Still makes a satisfying "thud".

I use my Ugly Betty(Sumatra) to destroy stuff with open sites.

Great fun the open sites with a little power behind the shot.

I especially like shooting Coal I have heaps of it, use it to heat my greenhouses. Nice puff of black dust confirms the hit.

I do this all the time as most of my older rifles have open sights.

My eyes are also no longer what they used to be , but with concentration very satisfying shooting can be done with open sights.

Actually for sheer enjoyment nothing beats shooting with open sights.

Starting to agree, I think we over scope and focus on one hole groups too much.
