    Default Benchrest Results in Namibia.

Most of you would not know that we participated against Namibia in Bench Rest this past week.
The centre fire rifle results does not concern me as much as the Air Rifles and Rim Fire results do.
Nick Schoolwinkel's 12 year old son was borne to shoot; a natural, if ever one was borne. This little chappie does not sit still for longer than three seconds at a time unless when he shoots. He would finish his detail in way under five minutes when he has twenty and still hand in a score nearer full score more often than not, in any wind or condition. He shoots so fast you would think he uses a automatic weapon. He did the same thing again this past week:

WBSF African Shoot Results for PCP Rifles.

    1st Niel Terblanche Snr 490 5x
    2nd Coenie Schoonwinkel Jnr 490 2x

1st Junior and Sporter Class with a 3rd unlimited class.

This is great, I think, for a youngster of not 13 yet against adults that have been shooting more years than what he is old.

Air Arms in S400 guise has proven it self again as a top class rifle.
Congratulations to all the shots that participated in Namibia and kept our flag flying high.

As a matter of interest, South Africa will be hosting the Bench Rest World Championship at Krokodilspruit next year.

It was only a Snr shoot no jnrs. Natali tookt .22 3 gun, Niel .177 2 gun Pieter Grundling HV .22 en LV .22, Coenie het .177 Sporter. All the above were South Africans. They are coming up nicely Piet but they still have to have licences for their air rifles in Namibia, so it is still a bit of a shlep to buy over there.

Since there is nowhere else I can think of to post this I will do it here.

We recently sent a fully fletched Protea team to Italy also, to participate in the BR World Championship and we showed the world why it took three years for the English to get us down and why we sent the Italians to the Egyptian desert only and made them build bridges and work on our farms, so we can take care of the serious things ourselves.

    PCP.177 Hunter Class:

    Jonathan Pizer(Wonder Child) Gold
    Rohan Roux Gold (1st Junior)
    SA A Team Silver
    SA B Team Gold
    UK A Team Bronze

    PCP .177 Unlimited

    Nico Pienaar Silver
    Rohan Roux JNR Gold
    SA A Team Gold
    SA B Team Silver
    SA C Team Silver

All of them are shooting either S400 Classics or MPRs (Just as a matter of interest)

    Three Members per Team

    Rimfire .22 Sporter 25m

    Toinette Barnard JNR Ladies Gold
    Luandrie Barnard JNR ladies Silver

Still more shooting taking place today and tomorrow. More results to follow.

Most Shooting sports will get very little if any coverage on TV because it is seen as a violent sport. Shooting in general is not very spectator friendly (ie not enough action) therefore no coverage.

agreed...as much as I like shooting benchrest [did it competitively for a few years] I can imagine that as a televised sport it would be as interesting as watching soil erosion
