Default Need some info/advice from the gurus :)

    Hi,

I've been plincking along in my back garden since forever but gets seriously peeved about the inaccuracy of my gamo. Its accurate enough to shoot at birds and tins and whatever, but I want to take HEADSHOTS at 30-50 meters. I also want to "play" at being a sniper so I want it to be SILENT.

So my questions relate to PCP airguns.

    1. what is the best low cost PCP for this purpose? Is the CZ 200S a real "tack-driver"? Or would the Air Arms S400 be better? What about the AA s200? Or something else alltogether? I hear the BAM50 is pretty good?
    2. Is the Weirauch rifles that accurate?
    3. Is the theoben airguns really worth the R20000?

In other words: What would you guys recommend to someone who CAN shoot (Had provicial colouts is shooting YEARS back). And want a bit of punch, but do not want to part with too much money?

S400\S410 extra FAC. Headshots at 50m??? you'll have to know your rifle inside out!! Bam 50 cheapest of the lot you mentioned, contact Malan128 for a BAm50. He tunes them to your needs. Lots of shots, or lots of power, hes the man to see...

Before this becomes another monster thread, read the "first pcp" sticky ( https://www.airrifle.co.za/showthread.php?t=4251 ). Long story short....S400 in 12fpe. Get accurate and consistent as a shooter first and 12fpe, if used accurately, will suffice for most applications. Yes, S200's are tackdrivers, but for the money (only a little more than S200), as a first pcp, you'll get the best return on investment with a 12fpe S400 w.r.t accuracy, consistency, shot count, service and support. For hunting or long range only, BAM or any other FAC rated air rifle is great, but as a first time pcp buyer, make sure you understand what and how much is sacrificed when opting for a higher power rifle and how it will affect your airgunning requirements.

Can also vouch for the S400 route.

Headshots at 50m is not that hard when you are familiar with your rifle and it's accurate.

We sometimes put beer bottle caps at that distance and some guys hit them very consistently... and just in case you guys forgot, most of us shoot springers there.

Just some useless information.... we have measured the distances where our targets are... furthest one is at 91m. Nobody bother shooting that far, except Jaco (with his Talon), but he was hitting the bullseyes at that distance.

Ok, but if I have to choose a PCP... S400 or S410.
For hunting purposes, go for FAC and use heavier pellets.

Listen to what the guys have said here, don't waste money like most of us did. Cheapie then upgrade to a better piece of c-@p, to a better piece of c-@p...... and then buy a S4oo.

    NEXT question

Where can I buy an S410 erb in SA? And what would a fair price be?
I live in PE so obviously mail order would be better.
