Decent entry level scope - not going to bowl anyone over, but will hold zero and let you hit your target. Hawke have good warranty service too, so worry free purchase if bought new.
You WILL upgrade though- probably sooner than later.

I have the Vantage SF 6-24x44. Great scope very good glass for the price. I think the one you mention should be just as good

Just be careful if you want to fit a one pice mount on some of the Airmax models like the 4-12x40 AO AMX

Hawke Vantage 3-9 x 40AO is a great scope. I have had mine for about 10 months now. I am using mine for HFT on my AA S400

I want to upgrade soon, only reason is for that is I would like to have a Half Mildot reticle. Mine is Mildot.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this entry level scope.

I have the Vantage 4-16X44 SF. Great value for the price. Also have the Airmax 3-9X40 on my cz200 ,prefer the sidefocus on the vantage.
