Default What pcp rifle with which scope - question after WFTC Wales

Very interesting question on " Pimpmyairgun.com " forum after the 2017 WFTF Wales .

    Q : Evening all!

So having pretty much decided what rifle Im going to invest in the next choice is the scope! So what are you nice people using? Just to give me an idea, use to have an old Nikki Stirling years back, cheers!!

    A :
    My 2 pennies...

If Little Jack won back to back the last 2 World's using that Air Arms EVII Mk IV & Nikko scope...then why not ? Surely It means the Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50X60 MUST be more than capable...

Red who scored 50/50 on 3rd day of comps. in Wales - shoots with a Steyr LG110 + Sightron SIII 10-50X60 - which also comes out of same factory in China with Japanese glass...

So, so true. I shoot with an EV2 MKIV and a Sightron...and I cannot shoot for sh$t. Mainly because I started 4 months ago with my FT "career" and I have everything still to learn.

Luckily I could invest in good equipment, based on good advice, but this equipment didn't magically change me into a good shooter.

Yes this is true, but having good equipment is always a good start and it is not a sin either.
The resale value of good kit is always going to be inline with the quality of the kit as well.

Any one here know where i can find information regarding the various sponsorships which the top international shooters enjoy.
I am curious to know what percentage of them payed from their own funds for their kit.

This information is not available at all. Very few people get sponsored and when they do, it’s not always common knowledge unless the aim of the sponsorship requires it. It could be to test a product(like in my case with Kahles). Some of them might have won equipment at big competitions. Do you count that as sponsored?
Some people sell there things. Some keep it but don’t use it. It’s each individuals’s choice and such information will never be available. Why would you want to know something like this?

Every person shoots the kit they want to or can afford. If someone is sponsored with product X, but does not like product X, do you think they would still use that product? Never ever.

The teams also pay there own way to these competitions. No single team is fully sponsored for airfare and accomodation, and all the rest that goes with it. Not that I know of that is, and I’ve spoken to practically all the teams at Worlds.

    Love it CK!!
This is always the case, or everyone would shoot exactly the same kit. Yes, some things are better than others. It is just a fact. But itís about what works for you! The same as with Eveyrthing in life!
I donít understand why this would be any different?
