    Default Extreme benchrest SA

Guys this looks like a huge amount of fun! Would anyone be interested in starting something like this in SA?

We could adapt the USA rules to suit us and make it a max 5.5mm to keep inline with the law.

    These are the American rules:

    Extreme Benchrest Rules:

    • Any pellet gun up to .35 caliber may be used
    • No solid slugs or cast bullets allowed (mass production diabolo pellets only)
    • No power restrictions
    • No weight restrictions
    • Target distance will be at 75 yards and 100 yards
    • One piece rest are allowed
    • Tethered tanks are not allowed
    • Fill as many times needed during shooting relay. Note…for safety, rifles may not leave bench during a relay

    Match Format:

    • 25 targets per shooter
    • 1 shot per target
    • 4 sighter targets
    • 30 minute time limit
    • 40 shooters per relay
    • All scorecards will be plugged equally
    • Sight in time will be a part of 30 minute relay

    Weekend Format:

    • Each Shooter will shoot 2 cards for a total of 50 shots (Card 1 on Friday and Card 2 on Saturday for a combined total score
    • There will be 40 Shooters per relay (4 Relays Total), competitors will compete against the same 40 shooters on Card 1 on Friday and Card 2 on Saturday (This allows all shooters to have the same shooting conditions against the same 40 shooters in each of the 4 relays)
    • The top 10 combined scores from the two cards per relay will make the finals on Sunday to shoot one final card for the championship (40 Shooters)
    • The “Finals” Extreme Benchrest score is the only score that will count for placing (All 40 shooters will be in the same relay and same shooting conditions)
    • There will be a Finals Relay both for Pro Class and Sportsman Class

    Target:

    • Sample Target – Practice Target
    • Sample Target – Official Extreme Benchrest Target
    • Target Size Measures:
      • X ring ……… 0.200
      • 10 ring……… 0.475
      • 9 ring………. 1.250
      • 8 ring………. 2.000
      • 7 ring……… 2.800
      • 6 ring……… 3.580
      • 5 ring……… 4.50
      • 4 ring……….5.125

    Scoring:

    • Highest shot per target is scored
    • Targets will be inward scoring
    • Anything outside of the target rings will be scored a 3
    • Any shot above the sighter line will be counted as a competitive shot
    • Any additional competitive shots over 25 will have a 10 point penalty per shot
    • Maximum score of 250 with twenty five 10X
    • Shooting the wrong target card/lane is an automatic disqualification
    • Disputes: The standard Dispute challenge fee of $20 will be applicable, and challenge rules apply

    Classes:

    • Pro Class – Any person associated with any company, promoter or manufacturer of airguns or air gun accessories. Also, any competitor who has placed higher than 3rd in any organised air gun competition in the past two years. Any person who wishes to declare themselves as a Pro Class Shooter may.
    • Sportsman Class – All other competitors who are not classified in the Pro Class for this event.

i think there are quite a few guys that are interested in starting something up......but 5.5mm outdoor is gonna be difficult at 75 and 100m.....

last 100m outdoor shoot we did, the groups were around 50-150mm...would be very interesting on a bench target methinks....

A few guys here in PE might be interested if it gets off the ground. The 75m with a 5.5mm is pushing it though. 50m i would say is better.

    I would be very interested.
Instead of mirroring the USA we could shoot at 50m, with the final at 75m.

We would have to re look the distance for SA with the 5.5mm. Dallas what about a target with 4 targets on and one shoots a 5 shot group at each @50, all 4 measured CTC and the lowest total wins, if a draw happens, the distance moves out to 65m and repeat the shoot (something like this).........just a though.
AGA probably has a patent on Extreme Bench so SA will have Extreme Group LOL

    Default Extreme bench rest shoot

Just testing the waters. Would anyone be interested in a 50m high power bench shoot at Sure Focus on the 21st of March ? ( Wednesday Public holiday )
If we have enough interest we will have enough time to organise the venue and discus rules etc. Please add your name if you would take part.
I think 50m at Sure Focus with the wind factor is plenty extreme, any other suggestions for a time or venue are more then welcome.
