    Extreme Benchrest Rules up to and
    including .30Cal:
    Any pellet gun up to and including .30 calibre may be used
    No solid slugs or cast bullets allowed (mass production diabolo pellets
    only)
    No power restrictions
    No weight restrictions
    Target distance will be at 75 m and 100 m
    One piece rest are allowed
    Tethered tanks are not allowed
    Fill as many times needed during shooting relay. Note…for safety, rifles
    may not leave bench during a relay

    Match Format:
    25 targets per shooter
    1 shot per target
    4 sighter targets
    30 minute time limit
    18 shooters per relay
    All scorecards will be plugged equally
    Sight in time will be a part of 30 minute relay
    Weekend Format 5th & 6th October 2018:

    Each Shooter will shoot 2 cards for a total of 50 shots (Card 1 on Thursday
    and Card 2 on Friday for a combined total score
    There will be 18 Shooters per relay (6 Relays Total), competitors will
    compete against the same 18 shooters on Card 1 on Thursday and Card 2
    on Friday (This allows all shooters to have the same shooting conditions
    against the same 18 shooters in each of the 6 relays)
    The top 3 combined scores from the two cards per relay will make the
    finals on Saturday to shoot one final card for the championship (18
    Shooters)
    The “Finals” Extreme Benchrest score is the only score that will count for
    placing (All 18 shooters will be in the same relay and same shooting
    conditions)
    There will be a Finals Relay

    Scoring:
    Highest shot per target is scored
    Targets will be inward scoring
    Anything outside of the target rings will be scored a 3
    Any shot above the sighter line will be counted as a competitive shot
    Any additional competitive shots over 25 will have a 10 point penalty per
    shot
    Maximum score of 250 with twenty five 10X
    Shooting the wrong target card/lane is an automatic disqualification
    Disputes: The standard Dispute challenge fee of R250 will be applicable,
    and challenge rules apply

    25-METER BENCHREST RULES
    All Rifles will be weighed, and Chronographed for FPE, at any time
    during the match.

    Unlimited Class
    Calibres allowed: ( 4.5mm, 5mm and 5.5mm)
    Any power level is allowed
    Any weight rifle is allowed
    .25 or larger calibres are not allowed to take part in this shoot.
    Rifles using electrically actuated or powered components, or computer processors and applications are allowed; these components need not be integral to the rifle.
    Wind flags or anemometers sensing and transmitting data to a computer device or display are allowed.
    Front rests using electrically actuated or powered components are allowed.
    One piece rests are allowed.
    Scopes transmitting or receiving data from a computer device are allowed.
    Scopes may utilize illumination.
    Tethered tanks are not allowed.
    International scoring rules will apply.
    Target distance: 25 meters

    Springer Class ()
    Calibres allowed: 4.5mm, 5mm and 5.5mm.
    Foot Pounds of Energy: maximum of 35
    Weight of rifle: maximum of 20 pounds.
    International scoring rules will apply.
    Target distance: 25 meters
    One piece rests are allowed.

    Junior Class
    Unlimited Class rules apply Ages 6 to 14

    There will be full transparency and viewing of your targets available after the match.

    OUTDOOR SPEED SILHOUETTE RULES
    The Outdoor Speed Silhouette shooters will make ready at the shooting lanes and must adhere to the following rules:
    All Shooters are under the direction of the Range Master. Any safety violations will immediately disqualify a shooter for that relay.
    Anyone shooting targets NOT in their designated lane will be disqualified.
    Those competitors whose targets have been shot must declare and shoot another relay
    Magazines must be empty and all pellets must be in the original box or tin at the beginning of the match – Competitors are NOT allowed to stage pellets. Tins must be shaken prior to the relay starting. Anyone caught staging pellets will be disqualified from the match
    Shooters may shoot from any position they choose
    Shooters are allowed the use of shooting sticks or bi-pods
    Shooters are allowed to use a chair, bench, bucket or any other type of seating device
    Shooters are allowed to use the benches that are provided at the range
    Shooters using benches are only allowed the use of a front rest – No other
    part of the airgun may touch the bench
    The target must be KNOCKED DOWN or OFF THE TILE in order for the relay to count
    Once all targets are down the shooter will press the electronic stop button and shout out FINISHED – Time will be recorded and line judges will also
    verify that all targets have been knocked down or off the tile.

    Equipment Rules:
    Airgun Rifles – Must use lead pellets – NO BBs/Round Balls
    Airguns can be single shot or magazine fed
    Any calibre is allowed up to .25 calibre
    Any type of sight is allowed
    No Airgun can exceed 50 FPE
    No semi or fully automatic airguns are allowed – All airguns must have a cocking device or action for each shot fired
    No magazine loading apparatus allowed (NEW-2017)

    Match Format:
    Each shooter will have 16 targets that must be KNOCKED down or off the TILE.
    This is a timed event and the object is to knock down all 16 targets in the shortest amount of time.
    There will be 18 shooting lanes open and rounds will be run every 5 to 10 minutes.
    The top ten (3) lowest times in each class will qualify for the finals to be held on Sunday after the 75 m Extreme Benchrest competition has been completed.
    All entrants for the 75 m Extreme can compete in the Speed Silo.
    Shooters will be allowed to shoot in three qualifying rounds.
    The targets are all standard metal .22 LR silhouette and include
    four rams,
    four pigs,
    four turkeys
    and four chickens.
    Targets will be placed on 30 m, 40 m, 50 m and 60 m, 30mm apart left to right.

    SAFS FIELD TARGET RULES
    Match Format:
    5 Lanes | 20 Targets | 40 Shots
    4 Targets Per Lane
    Limited to the first 54 registered shooters

    Classes:
    Extreme Class:
    .25 – .35 calibre (minimum 28 ft/lbs at muzzle required to knock down targets)
    Maximum 150 ft/lbs

    High Power Class:
    .22 calibre (minimum 28 ft/lbs at muzzle required to knock down targets)
    Maximum 50 ft/lbs

    Rules:
    No Tripods
    No Rear Rest
    Pellets Only
    Scope Magnification maximum of 32x
    No Challenging of targets
    Any shooting position is allowed within marked shooting area
    Bipods, shooting sticks, and monopods are allowed (2 inch maximum diameter base)
    No chairs with back allowed

    Format:
    Targets will be placed from 15–100 yards
    All target distances will be marked
    Each shooter will have 5 minutes to shoot all 4 targets twice for a total of 8 shots per station.
    3 Shooters per group
    Groups will be scheduled throughout the day from 8:00AM – 4:00PM
    Groups will be scheduled every 20 minutes
    Sight in range will be open from 7:00 AM to 4:00PM
    1 mulligan shot per shooter can be used if needed
    Kill zones will be various shape and sizes
    Air will be provided on the course with Female foster fitting (you must supply own fitting with male connect)

    RANGE OFFICE / Match Director
    Any airguns declared unsafe to people or property (including targets) by
    the Match Director will be barred from use.
    In any matters arising and not covered by these rules, the Match Director’s decision will be final.

    Big Bore Benchrest Rules

    Requirements:
    Cast bullets or solid slugs only
    Breathable Air / Nitrogen only
    125 ft/lbs at the muzzle is recommended to activate targets
    No weight restrictions
    One piece rest are allowed
    Tethered tanks are NOT ALLOWED (Tank cannot be connected to gun while shooting)
    Same gun must be used in both events
    Fill as many times needed during shooting relay. Note…for safety, rifles may not leave bench during a relay
    Scores are going to be combined for both the Benchrest and Steel
    Challenge for a total score
    Limited to the first 54 registered shooters

    BENCHREST RULES
    Match Format:
    35 minute time limit
    9 shooters per relay
    Sight in time will be a part of 35 minute relay
    Target distance will be at 200 m

    Target:
    NRA SR-1 ( 5 on A3 with 2 Sighters in bottom corners )
    5 Scoring Targets, 4 Shots per Target
    2 Sighter Targets

    Scoring:
    Targets will be inward scoring
    Shooting the wrong target card/lane is an automatic disqualification
    Disputes: The standard Dispute challenge fee of R250 will be applicable, and challenge rules apply
    Big Bore Benchrest Steel Challenge Rules

    Match Format:
    35 minute time limit
    Steel flash type targets will be used
    Flash target must be fully activated to count as a hit
    Targets that are hit that make a sound or move but do not fully activate target are not scored as a hit
    125 ft/lbs at the muzzle is recommended to activate targets
    Each station will have 2 targets at different distances
    Distance will be determined day of shooting by a random draw.
    Close Target between 75-125 m
    Far Target between 175-225 m
    Shooters will have a total of 26 shots and 24 will be scored
    Closest target will be shot first and must be shot and recorded as a hit 12 times before moving to far target.
    Each close target will be worth 5 points per hit
    Shooters will advance to far target after all 12 shots on the close target have been hit and recorded.
    Far target can be hit and recorded for a score a maximum of 12 times
    Far targets are worth 10 points per hit

    AIR PISTOL RULES
    EQUIPMENT:
    Any Air Pistol .177 calibre not exceeding 6 ft-lb of energy. Only Wad cutter style pellets allowed.
    SIGHTS:
    Any type of open sights or coloured electronic dot sights are allowed ( no magnified scopes ).

    POSITION:
    All firing is done from a standing position. The airgun may not be supported by any other means than hand holding. Additionally no part of a shooters body maybe supported during the course of shooting. ( There will be a separate class for handicapped. )

    TARGET AND DISTANCE:
    Shooters will be responsible for placing and retrieving their own targets.
    All shooting is done at 10 meters. The target used will be the official NRA single bullseye 10 meter pistol target B 40/1 or ISSF approved 10 meter pistol target for electronic scoring.

    COURSE OF SHOOTING:
    Each shooter will receive 7 targets. 6 targets for the match and 1 target for practice.
    The course of shooting will be one round of 6 targets 5 shots each. 30 shots total with a 30 minute time limit. Start / end will be directed by command.

    SCORING:
    All scoring is done electronically. Each shooter will be provided labels to be attached to each target. All completed targets must be handed to the master score keeper at end of round. Any shots that are questionable may be settled by the master score keeper or match director or designated person or panel. Viewing of scoring will be displayed on 60” monitor.
    Results may be presented at end of match or at a later time.

    SAFETY:
    All guns must be unloaded and in a gun case. Or guns may be placed on designated tables uncased with safety on if applicable and OBI / OCI indicators installed until time to shoot. Any acceptable indicator may be used. Competitors must have their air guns unloaded and OBI / OCI flags inserted during target change unless electronic target movers are used.
    Absolutely no handling of airguns during target changes or between rounds as directed. These rules will be enforced by match director, RO or a designated individual.

    PARTICIPANTS:
    Adult competitors must be 16 years of age or older. Younger competitors may participate and must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
