    Default Shortening a springer barrel?

So I have a Springer, D34 classic. I'm busy customising the hell out of it and having major fun doing so. I'd like to know, would it be ok for me to shorten the barrel? I'll have to re-crown the barrel again obviously. How short can I go? Is the barrel chocked? Do I need the choke?

I'm a Turner machinest by trade and have access to machine tools, so I'll be doing this myself.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Regards

I have done several rifles, 2 Walther LGV,s and a old HW 50
with the lGV,s I managed to remove the barrel from the breach block so cut them shorter with out losing the choke
unfortunately I could not manage to do is his with HW50 so lost the choke it did not affect accuracy
I have a HW30 which was shortened in this way and it out shoots my std HW30 in velocity and accuracy
if you look at the Air arms pro-sport it only has a 300 mm long barrel the rest is a shroud
So shortening the barrel is an option

My HW50s has lost its choke and has a 10" barrel. Supper accurate

Kuber might give you some handy advice here. I sold him a Diana 34 Classic in .177 and he did some mods (IIRC he had the barrel docked too).

Here's hoping that he'll read this and share some pics
