Default Gecado air rifle stock refurbishment

Just finished restoring my Gecado Air rifle stock.

I used Birchwood Casey Try Oil with two coats of Woodoc hard clear wax (not the liquid Woodoc)

    Thanks guys!

The Birchwood Casey Try Oil wasn't the easiest product to use as it dried with an inconsistent finish. I decided to flat it off using fine steel wool and wax it with Woodoc hard wax in a tin (3 coats).

Did you have to sand it down first? If so, how did you do it?

Scraped the old finish off with a piece of glass.

Then I sanded till I was happy with the finish. Start with 160 and work your way down to 400.

I used TRUOIL but I don't recommend it. It isn't the easiest product to use.

I applied TRUOIL diluted 50/50 with Turps for first two coats to allow it to soak in. Then I applied three coats of TRUOIL, sanding in between coats with 0000 steel wool.

I applied WOODOC Antique Wax after a few days allowing adequate time for the TRUOIL to settle down.
