    Default Elevation turret creeping

This is not my scope and only relaying the question to ask your advice so I hope I have all the correct info.

The scope is a BSA 3-12X44, mounted on a GAMO CFX.
"It turns by at least five or so clicks and if i don't check it after a few days it will be way over 10 to 12 clicks."

Don't know the BSA scopes so not sure how much punishment it can take from a springer.

Is this expected behaviour of this scope or should it be taken back and replaced?
Any other suggestions to get this problem resolved?

    Thanks
    Jacques

It might be the whole scope moving on the rifle or in the mounts.

Was thinking that as well. Waiting for confirmation on mounts (one piece or not etc)

The BSA 2-7x32 AR and the 3-12x44 AR are spring gun rated scopes. Check the mounts first.

I have the 3-12x44 on 1 piece mounts and not had any problems so far

I think it is more a mount problem , but if the mounts aren't moving, take the scope back.

My Nikko Stirling scope crept quite a bit on the Gamo 640. I tightened down nicely, but on the 1000 I use Hawke mounts and it's 100% - What is the general feeling on Ultra Optec? I have just aquired an S400 classic and I can't jump up and down about the scope!

Ultra optec scopes are not the greatest optics, if you are looking for sight glass. I had one on a springer (long time ago) and the eyebell kept coming loose after a few shots - turns out the thread was half stripped! took the lot back. If it's the S400 that you're looking to scope, then don't waste you time, rather go Nikko if you're on a budget or Leapers. Putting that on you S400 will be like putting beetle rims on a ferrari.

confirmed it's the actual turret that rotates.
Guess the fella will have to take it back.
