    Another plan for a quiet backstop is to buy a bag of rags at Midas, it is tightly compacted and measures 350 x 350 x 100mm thick and will set you back the princely sum of R79.00 It comes wrapped in plastic, so maybe a frame or something has to be fabricated, but I think even high powered PCP's wont shoot through that.

    Good evening.

    As a adventurer of questionable note I have confirmed common knowledge that silent pellet traps do exist and are easy to manufacture.

    However the targets/medium are the main culprits when it boils down to noise generation.

    When this is one day is addressed we can then progress to addressing the sound that accompanies the pellet as it travels..

    Short solution - live with this.
    Long term- do not ever give up !
