Default Field Target Scope (Sightron, Hawke or other Brands?)

    Hi

Looking at getting a Sightron 10-50x60 scope or similar for FT shooting. Can somebody help with correct model number? Also, is there other Brands that I can look at with good local backup/warranty?

Sightron for backup. Nicholas Yale rocks!

I am not certain about the Big Nikko, but maybe Rashaad can confirm the backup process from his supplier?

There is another underrated solution... Get a ZOS 10-40 as a starter scope for FT. If Carbon Kid can clear a course with one, then there must be some merit. At 40X, they are not the clearest, but at 30X, they will be clear enough. 30X is all you need.

There is a 30X AO Bushnell scope that the UK guys love, but then you lose the SF. Don't know the model number

There is also the BushnellElite 6500 2.5-30x50mm for around R15K . Anyone have a deeper insight into this model? Has anyone used one in this country?

Nikko stirling backup works as a swap out, provided its bought local and not a grey import. If no stock is left at suppliers for a swap out. They will credit on that amount for another scope or if customer is willing to wait for next shipment. On my thread, outdoor pitstop, there is an excellent priced new nikko diamond 10-40x56 at R7300

I would be interested to see how it ranges. It could become a decent alternative to the 50X scopes. Someone buy it so we can test...

I've got a 6-24x50, looking for more magnification. Ideally 10-50x60

    I have a XD optics 10-40 x 60

Good solid scope regarding build and adjustment of turrets.

Like Blud said over 30x gets bit foggy...

What you pay for them they are well worth it.

24X is not sufficient for ranging. He needs minimum of 30X.

Duplex ret for a beginner will be difficult to use, iMO, for various reasons - depending obviously on the base skill of the shooter.

Also worth looking at is the Hawke Airmax 30 in 8X-32X. AMX reticle is a pleasure to use.
It is as clear and sharp on 32X as it is on 10X.

Having said all that about the Hawke, if a Falcon could be found when I bought the Hawke, I would have taken the Falcon, without a doubt.
