On Saturday I had the intention of dialing in and setting up a new scope on my RWS, and right before I could take the 1st shot, the pressure gauge failed and let out all the air via what I believe to be the over pressure safety system.
What was weird is that I had filled the rifle to 200bar about 2 week ago. So it was not due to filling it / over filling it just prior to the failure.
Also I use a Hills pump, so over filling is first of all too much effort, and secondly the Pump and the rifle's gauges matched.
The rifle was cold, not left in the sun, handled correctly etc...
My question is do these gauges fail regularly, maybe from age etc?
Anyway, attached is a pic of the gauge - where will I be able to purchase one relatively close to the west rand? Which shops stock these?
